U.S. Rep. Collin Peterson, D-Minn., wants to name a new Alexandria, Minn., Veterans’ Affairs outpatient clinic after a man killed during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attack on the Pentagon.
Peterson introduced legislation to name the clinic after Alexandria native Max J. Beilke.
Beilke, a 1950 Alexandria High School graduate, served 22 years in the Army and then was deputy chief of the Army’s Retirement Services.
The clinic is to open in September.
