Money remains in appliance rebate pot

Minnesotans have another chance to receive state rebates for buying new appliances.

The Commerce Department reports 22,185 rebates were made earlier in the year, but some money remains in the kitty, so Minnesotans may be eligible for rebates on appliances bought after March 1 of this year.

About $717,000 of the original $5 million in rebate money is left.

Rebates are paid only on Energy Star appliances: $200 for clothes washers, $150 for dishwashers, $100 for freezers and $200 for refrigerators costing at least $300 with 7.75 cubic feet or more space.

Rebate applications are available at www.mnappliancerebate.com or (877) 230-9119.
