Kline heads home from Afghanistan and Pakistan

U.S. Rep. John Kline returns Tuesday from a week-long trip to Pakistan and Afghanistan.

“The opportunity to visit with our troops from Minnesota is always a highlight of these trips, and our sons and daughters in uniform are doing incredible things to help the Afghan people,” the Minnesota Republican said. “It was truly humbling and inspiring to be with our troops in Marjah as local villagers opened a new school that will help bring literacy to more than 500 children.”

Kline, who was in the Marines 25 years, was on the trip with two other congressmen.

While in Afghanistan, the delegation received updates from several American and Afghan military and civilian leaders. In Pakistan, the delegation met with Pakistani Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani and military leaders.
