Minnesota journalists will quiz the state’s top four legislative leaders at 1 p.m. today.
Organized by Forum News Service, the briefing is a Capitol tradition as journalists from around the state have a rare opportunity to see those who will make the most important decisions at the same table.
Gov. Mark Dayton will miss the event after having hip surgery last week. Early last month, the governor committed to attend, but that was before surgery was scheduled.
The news service gave Dayton a chance to call in and answer a few questions. A spokesman on Tuesday said Dayton is busy meeting with staff and commissioners today and would not participate.
Those who want to watch the event may visit www.senate.leg.state.mn.us/media for a Senate Media Services live video stream or go there to watch an archived recording after the briefing concludes.
The legislative session begins Feb. 25 and must end by May 19.
